Elect Jeremie Dufault - State Representative - 15th District - Position 2

ABOUT JEREMIE

Jeremie Dufault is running for the 15th Legislative District, Position #2 in the Washington State House of Representatives. He is a Republican.

Dufault held the seat for four years, but in 2022 new legislative boundaries cut his Selah home out of the 15th District and prevented him from running for a third term.

Since then, a federal judge has determined that the new maps were unconstitutional and that different boundaries needed to be drawn, which put Dufault back in his old district. The new 15th District runs from Prosser through Zillah, Terrace Heights, Selah and west Yakima.

“It looks a lot like my old district,” said Dufault. “I’m excited to get back to work serving my friends and neighbors and helping make Washington a better place to live and work.”

During his two terms in the House of Representatives, Dufault helped stop several property tax increase proposals and a state income tax. He also helped create the Purple Heart license plate program and increased housing and medical services for homeless veterans. He also sponsored legislation to expand mental health care in Yakima County.

Dufault was named one of the most conservative members of the Washington State House of Representatives by the national Conservative Political Action Committee.

He is a real estate developer and lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He served in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Dufault was born and raised in Yakima. He graduated from Davis High School, the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School. He lives in Selah with his three daughters, Ellie, Lulu, and Addy.
